Our Story
It all began during COVID, at a farm called Tesselaarsdal.
Nico strolled in on a Saturday, bypassing all greetings andformalities. Instead, he marched straight into the kitchen,poured himself a dop, and left quite the first impression.
Katé’s first thought? What an absolute asshole! Later, when Nico tried to greet her, she gave him the cold shoulder.
Apparently, that’s all it took, because Nico fell in love instantly.
A few weeks later, Nico cleverly orchestrated his birthdayparty and invited everyone from that same farm gathering.Clearly, his plan was to ensure Katé would be there. Soonafter, there was supposed to be another party on his family’sfarm. Conveniently, everyone else “got busy,” and somehow,it turned into just the two of them going for a wine tasting.
Katé got tipsy, lost her skirt in a SPAR (yes, you read that right), and Nico—ever the gentleman—pointed it out andbought her sushi to sober her up before they went to meet his mom.To Katé’s surprise, his whole family was waiting at thefarm. No pressure, right?
After that, Nico became a regular visitor in Bredasdorp. Hewould book guesthouses just to spend more time with Katé,earning the nickname “pen pal” from her family. Her friends met him and instantly knew—he was the one.
By February, Nico officially asked Katé to be his girlfriend.Practical as ever, she decided that he chose a horrible anniversary date—it was far too close to her parents’anniversary—so she moved the date.
And the rest, as they say, is history.

What is the dress code?

Please arrive 30 minutes before the ceremony begins.
Is there a dress code regarding the bride and groom's theme/colors?
The only guideline is to avoid white, as the bridesmaids have declared a war on anyone else wearing that color (except for Katé).
Is there parking at the venue?
Free parking is available on the farm.
What happens between the ceremony and reception?
There will be a cocktail hour along with an opportunity for photos.
Do you have a wedding registry?
We will include a link on the website for contributions to our honeymoon fund.
Will there be vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free options?
A buffet-style set menu will be provided, including gluten-free and pescatarian options.
Is there an open bar?
Guests will enjoy two complimentary drinks and complimentary champagne, and wine at the tables. The rest of the evening will feature a cash bar, with shots available at a designated time that will be announced later.
Can we take photos during the ceremony?
Guests will have the opportunity to take pictures, but after that, we will go unplugged for the ceremony. We’re hiring professionals to capture the best angles, so please refrain from taking any unflattering shots!
